At Delta Western, we believe that supporting the places we serve means showing up in every season, and in every way that matters.
Through two of our community giving focus areas—Community Well-Being and Connection & Culture—we invest in efforts that strengthen health, uplift local traditions, and bring people together.
This year, we’re proud to once again sponsor the Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay (KCIBR), a cycling event that connects riders across borders and breathtaking landscapes.
From the Yukon to Alaska: An Iconic Ride
On Saturday, June 21, cyclists from near and far traveled the stunning and remote 150-mile route from Haines Junction, Yukon, to Haines, Alaska. Each year, the race reaches its capacity of 1,200 riders, attracting participants from across North America and even as far as Australia.
Held around the summer solstice, the KCIBR offers riders the unique experience of cycling under some of the longest daylight hours of the year, allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in the views of:
Kluane National Park and Reserve (from the start line in Haines Junction), a vast expanse of icefields and peaks designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincial Park, which borders the Haines Highway in British Columbia and provides dramatic backdrops of glacier-carved valleys and rugged terrain.
Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve: As riders approach Haines, they pass through this 48,000-acre preserve, which hosts the country's largest concentration of bald eagles.
Why We’re Proud to Be a Partner
“This event showcases the beauty of our region and reflects the kind of energy and connection we’re committed to fueling every day,” said Jake Eckhardt, Operations Manager at Delta Western Haines. “We’re honored to sponsor it for the second year, and we’re already hoping to put a Delta Western team on the road for next year’s race.”
As the sole provider of fuel in Haines, Delta Western plays a critical role in keeping the region moving. Our sponsorship of the KCIBR reflects our broader commitment to being a responsible and engaged community partner.
Join Us in Celebrating the Great Outdoors
